Calgary-based musician, Sonia Deleo works in a striking half-pitch of knockout musical grandiosity and sensitive singer-songwriter poetics. Her warmth, wit and drama feel at home in all of the wide-ranging genres on her 2022 debut LP Love Notes to the Monsters. The album fuses folk, rock and blues, with her masterful vocals and unique perspective remaining at the focal point of the project. With her backing band, The New Dads, Deleo’s live shows are an engaging, comedic, blast of a time. Sonia showcased at CMW 2024 in Toronto, released her sophomore EP Didn't Know Better in May 2025, took the band to Jasper Folk Music Festival in September, and received a Betty Mitchell award for Sound Design & Composition for her one woman musical TWO MOONS: A Folk Lullaby.
